Mostly PAH (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) in the cigarettes. Burning them results in them being deposited in the lungs...it's rather nasty...

Smoking damages the lungs by all the bad chemicals coumpounds in the cig. There are more than 4,000 of them. Here's a list of some of the most deadliest ones:
Acetone, Aluminum, Ammonia, Anthracenes, Benzene, Butadience, Campesterol, Carbon Monoxide, Carbon Sulfide, Copper, Dimenthylhydrazine, Formic acid, Furan, Hydrazine, Isoprene, Lead, Magnesium, Nickel, Nicotine, Palmitic Acid, Phenol, Pyrenes, Quinoline, Skatole, Stearic Acid, Titanium, Urethane, Vinylpyridine.

Normally, we breath in with oxygen and out with carbon dioxide. By smoking we breath in and out both with a presence of carbon. Too much carbon in our lungs causes cell to damage. Ooohhhhss.....! Of course everybody knows how smoking does damage lungs, what might a smokers doesn't know that to much intake of foods with high in beta carotene are making themselves in a high risk of lung cancer.

The constant pollution causes the small cells and cavities in the lungs to get clogged, so they die off and if that happens continuously the dead cells dont get replaced anymore or they get replaced by defective new cells that start to form cancer....

cigerttes and stuff like that has how bunch of bad crap inside it such as tar and different poisons. When you smoke you breathe all that crap in and it starts to build up on your lungs.

you breath in nicotine and it builds up tar in your lungs.it doest just pore in but you get 2 drops of tar in your lungs every year.
