If you want an example of the results of this, check out Great Britian and Australia. Since guns were banned or severely restricted in these two places, violent crimes have increased dramatically. Washington DC has the most restrictive gun laws in the US and the highest crime rate. On the other hand, in every state which has permitted concealed carry, violent crimes have decreased. Give up your guns if you like, but I'll keep mine.
By definition, criminals are people who do not obey the law, so any gun ban only disarms the law-abiding public. If you are accosted by a gun-wielding assailant, whip out your cell phone and dial 911. In most places, you can expect an armed officer to respond within 15 to 20 minutes, so you only have to "cooperate" with the gunman for a little while.

Banning guns is a bad idea and the worst thing we could do right now. Banning does not bother crooks. As there are so many guns already in existence it would just make the honest people turn in their guns, leaving the crooks a wide open field. We have a unique society in that guns were already here long before anyone thought about controlling them. Also, the constitution does guarantee us the right to own guns. Years ago I thought banning guns was a good idea, but I have come to think differently.

If there was some way to magically eliminate all guns in the world I would say yes. But since that is not possible a gun ban is a VERY BAD idea.
The only people that would obey a gun ban would be the law abiding citizens that were no threat in the first place. This would mean open season for the scum that shouldn't have guns in the first place.
The only thing that stops some people for entering any house at will is the possibility that the owner might be armed and ready to end their life of crime. Without this deterrent, there would be anarchy.

There is no way that you can do that and be sure that you have all the guns...i will not give up my gun...this is my protection ..i am not a criminal and don't do drugs, i feel i am entitled to bear arms for my own personal protection... If you ban guns and the only people besides the police who have guns are criminals..then what is the average person to do?? call the police and wait hours to see if they will even show up...

The first thing the Nazis and the Communists did when they came into power was to ban private ownership of guns. The kings of Europe banned guns to prevent their subjects from overthrowing them. Look at countries like Switzerland, every man is in the military and keeps a gun, they have a very low crime rate.

If guns were banned only criminals would have them.Maybe we should allow everyone to carry who doesn't have a criminal record.There was a shooting in a restaurant where a lady with a concealed carry permit was dining with her parents. The state she was visiting did not allow people to carry weapons. Her parents were both killed by the gunman.Had she had her weapon many innocent people may still be alive.

Ban guns ? If that happen, guessed what, you would be an open target to all the criminals for I can guarantee you that they will still have guns.

Um, no. I want a gun for self defense and to shoot. If people dont have guns they cant form militias. If they cant form militias the states cant exercise their right to take up arms against the federal govt if they ever get out of control! Read the constitution again dude!
