my friend 'Paulie' met a man at a hotel in which she works. she is an early teen at 14.
the man of her affections is 50. WTF??? that's what i asked. but she was like "he's so sweet! it'll work out." and stuf like that

i'm probably wrong to jump in on her life, but i'm scared for her, because i saw them kissing one night at his house, which is a block away from mine.

what should i do?

Okay does the parents know??....
First give her a really good Pep Talk it she thinks that your jumping into her life give her a little space. Trust me tell the parents and give it MAX a week. He'll know things that she doesn;t and it'll soon fade. If this continues tell her parents.
♣ Good Luck

Call the Police and have this child pedophile taken off the streets and what is a 14 old doing working at a hotel you have to be 18 to rent a room and the hotel can have charges brought against them also for hiring a minor that comes in contact with adults. Sounds to me like the hotel is putting kids at risk. Just call the Police and have them investigate the matter.

Mind your own business. When he gets caught, and he will get caught he will do jail time ...she's a minor every state in the nation has laws prohibiting sex with a minor he'll go to jail for a long time. And the other inmates will teach him his lesson. Her parents will find out by anonymous letter spelling out all the details from an anonymous source who can spell out his name , the location where the crime takes place etc...the cops will bust him and your Friend won't be able to see him until his jail time is served. She's jail bait and by the time he gets out of jail she'll be much older and wiser. Now, remember...you mind your own business let this other person send the information to her parents anonymously! You'll be her guardian angel and she'll never have to know you helped because you minded your own business, An envelope, a stamp, a type written anonymous letter ASAP! Shhhhhh... God bless you---

That's frightening. Your friend may dislike you for awhile but do something.Talk to your own parents, your friends parents and have this 50 year old reported.Heaven knows what could happen to your friend. Way older men are always sweet to young people.(The bad ones I'm talking about of course)Please do something right away. Don't waste time on this one. She's heading for trouble and should be very grateful for a friend that cares.

Have you seen Dateline NBC's specials on "To Catch a Predator?" If a 50 (or over 18) year old man is having any improper contact with a minor (and 14 is definitely a minor), it is illegal. She could get really hurt by him - physically & emotionally. Tell her parents/guardian, and if they do not listen, call your local police and social services. IT IS ABUSE - even if she seems to be initiating it. She's still a child. Good Luck!

well first off that is gross. um you should try talking to her by telling her that it's actually rape, and pretty much I don't think it will work out between them. I am sorry but by the time she is his age, he will be dead and she will realize what a waste it was. If you really want to take drastic meaures and break them up then you should get the police involved. that always works too, and If you really do love her as your friend then get involved. She will understand if she is a good friend too, I promise.
If she doesn't listen and keeps pushing then just lean back and let her ruin her own life, but I still think it will work.

If he has any sense, he'll keep a safe distance - like a mile or two - between himself and this teenager, and not respond to her crush.

Tell her that any sexual advances between her and an adult could land her in a foster home and him in jail. Her parents would also get into trouble for not supervising her properly. From what you say, they don't...

Not only is this morally wrong, it is illegal. Your friend might think he likes her, but whats wrong with a man of his age, wanting someone who is still a child. Old enough to be her father. I know young girls think they have everything under control, but this is not safe. He will have his way with her any way he wants and after a while she will BELONG to him. If you want to help your friend, tell an adult you can trust.

Warn her that he can go to jail and set her straight that hes to old for her. if that doesnt work, go to her parents. she'll be mad but she'll get over it and thank you in the end.
