The best way is to see a shrink and after some careful questioning, the shrink will recommend an endocrinologist. It is the endocrinologist that will prescribe the hormones and related and follow you for appropriate responses. The endocrinologist will explain the effects and side effects. One of the things that likely will happen is that he will prescribe an androgen blocker, which of itself will cause a certain set of effects. Without that, at times, the effect is about like having a foot on the brake and the other on the gas, you may need a shrink if you aren't prepared. First, you have to see if you qualify and for that a psychologist or psychiatrist is needed.

Breast growth. It's said to espect a little less than close female relatives. Body fat will redistribute to places like the legs, hips, etc. The face will become softer and less masculine. The skin will soften. Body hair also lessens a little. Laser air removal or electrolysis might still be needed though. It doesn't effect facial hair or the voice though, so those will still need dealt with. There's many forms of estrogen out there to take, including premarine. Some people are against using premarine because of how it is obtained, citing that it's cruelty to animals. It's also not the cheapest way to take estrogen. A testosterone blocker is also neccessary. Some people also take a progesterone too, but some don't. It isn't neccissary and I haven't seen any reliable evidence to say that it helps feminize. The bad effects are moodyness, naseua, etc. I think you get the idea. Also, it can cause blood clots to form in the legs. They can reach the heart and be fatal. If you plan to start taking estrogen, make sure you stop smoking immediately. Smoking and taking estrogen for some reason greatly increases the risk of DVT (the blood clots.) Do some research and talk to a doctor about what form of medications you should take and get them to monitor your bloodwork. Estrogen can raise your cholesterol to dangerously high levels. Hope this helps.

Premarine is a hormone and it will not give PMS because male DOESNT have female anatomy. The effect of premarine level in his body can cause distruptions to his hormone and reproduction system known as testosterone with less sperm count and not being able to get erection easily/quickly as compared to other male. On contrary, the 1st sign will show is his skin and chest/nipples will grow. Skin becomes clear and less hairy because testosterone has been replace by estrogen (premarine). Imbalance and mess up hormone will cause fatigue, increase appetite, loosing sexual feelings and hair plus mood swing and depression.
There is no best way ....it is up to him to make a call. Our body is our own temple.

Premarine 5 to 10 times the dose for a genetic female. A testosterone blocker. You will grow breasts, your face will soften but that takes years. If you're young enough you'll never have to shave, older you'll need electrolysis, Most if not all body hair will disappear except for Genital hair, leg and arm hair will drastically decrease, Hips may widen some if you're young enough. If you're balding it will stop. you might even gain some hair, your penis will shrink, all your emotions will be enhanced.

See a gender therapist and get the drugs prescribed. Do it right.
You could die from a blot clot taking estrogen and progesterone. You really should have a doctor monitoring you.
