I don't know anything about 'physically' being above your bed...

In theory, when we sleep we astrally project from time to time; and as with any O.B.E. it is just as 'real' if not more so than waking life. For people who remember an O.B.E., the feeling of vividness and freedom puts conscious waking life to absolute shame.

Sometimes upon re-entry, the physical brain 'catches' the sensation of the soul slipping back in and panics - resulting in a bumpy ride called astral catalepsy. Paralysis, feelings of terror or being possessed, feeling of being slammed back into the body, ect.

I could see how someone could actually think they had fallen physically from a height onto the bed, but were in actuality experiencing the re-entry to their body. I have never heard of somebody being witness to a levitating sleeping person.

I always thought that the levitation thing was a euphemism for the sensation a person gets during deep meditation, where they lose the feeling of their body after being still for so long - that it feels as if they've left it and are floating. I've never heard of actual physical levitation. Interesting though, as some other replies I read before I wrote this described the same experience as you...

I've had the same thing happen and depending how reliable your brother is and how high you were floating it could of been a couple things. A lot of people make small movements when they dream and if you were dreaming you were falling your body was probably pretty tense. If you were tense enough then your torso might of been a couple inches off the bed because you were pressing so hard with your head and limbs. then when you dreamed that you hit and woke up you reflexively tried to catch yourself; letting go of your rigid posture then slamming down your hands and feet to break the fall. Since the mattress was already rebounding from you letting go you hitting it again would feel twice as hard and startle you into full awakeness. now if your brother is trustworthy and says that you were two or three feet off of the ground you might want to consider less scientific avenues.

How long have you lived in the house? Or slept in that room? It happened to me once, when I was 13. I lived in that house for awhile, and odd things I won't elaborate on what happened, but I was young and not afraid. Maybe you should move, or sleep in a different room. Not all contact is bad however, and if you weren't feeling scared when you woke, it probably isn't anything to fear. Also some people have the rare ability to levitate, perhaps you are just developing a new ability, which is hella cool. I wouldn't tell a whole lotta people about it though, unless they believe in the occult or at the least the paranormal, they might label you as crazy.

Sorry if I have to disappoint you and tell you that they are very explainable. Nothing unusual about these things and every person has them from time to time.

You are in the twilight zone as they call it. Not asleep and not awake. Actually you are more asleep than awake. Dreams can seem very real to all of us. even dreaming you wake up happens to us. Some times people open their eyes and seem totally awake but when they try to move they are totally paralyzed because the body is still asleep and will not respond to your thoughts. Scary when it happens until you know just what it is.

It is difficult some times to know if you are actually in this twilight zone or not. If it seems very unreal then you are. Remember everything you dream is based on what you know and have experienced in life. The imagination can take this and create fantastic events. Very much like making a movie.

No dreams do not tell the future. Yes sometimes what you dream does come to be. Most of the time this is based on the fact you already know the probable outcome.

Enjoy these events and don't let them scare you. They can be fun and you can manipulate them to suit you mood at the time.

Have you been evaluated for Sleep Paralysis Disorder. This is where you are still in dream like state while awake. What happens is you wake up but the sleep functions of rim sleep do not shut down. This gives you the feeling of not being able to move, floating, and causes hallucinations (seeing part of your dream while actually having your eyes open) I have this disorder and it can be very creepy. There are medications for it. As for your brother seeing you floating I say hey maybe the aliens were trying to abduct you and your brother scared them off. who knows.

It's astral projection. I did it here recently by accident during meditation. I wound up in some poor fellas room and scared him..he actually saw me. I don't have a clue to who it was and I haven't done it again. I have been out of the body several times in my life and it's a weird experience. I am hoping to perfect this art form as I can see where it could really be interesting to use.

As a human being, we have a tendency to experience that because that is part of growing up. And also,a psychologist has an explanation for that so that is really happening. But people look at it as ridiculous.
