Or do you assume the worst of people, be they strangers or friends. Or merely acquaintences.

I always give people the benefit of the doubt. It's gotten me into trouble before, but it's what God would have us do :)

I can honestly say that I ALWAYS give people the benefit of the doubt. I assume the best, until given a reason to do otherwise. I see this as a positive trait of mine, but my friends tell me that I am too trusting. I have one friend, who always assumes the worst. She swears it's because she loves being surprised if she's wrong. I just can't see wasting good positive energy on finding something wrong in everybody you meet.

I sincerely try to give the benefit of a doubt. We have a new employee in the office that I immediately got a negative vibe from, but I'm making an effort to get to know her and not just write her off at this point.

I assume the best........until they show me the worst. I have a bad habit of then delving in even deeper once they have shown me the worst and trying to find that "best" person again and bring them to the surface where they can stay for ever. Sometimes I end up making a lifelong friend. Other times......I get hurt beyond belief. But if you don't believe that there is good in all.....you grow to be cynical. And don't you think we have enough of that to go around?

I do. I think sometimes with all that is going on in someones life or stress they may do things. Plus younger people sometimes just jump in there and do things. I give people loads of chances but I'm not the judge of anyone and that is the way I think. I mean if someone is doing something that causes me pain then I pull away. Other then that I am nice and caring to everyone.
☺
Including my hubby......Who I would like to mash right now.

Since I don't trust people too often-no,I don't usually give them the benefit of the doubt.

Normally give everyone the benefit of the doubt unless (or until) they change my mind, and I don't mean one screw up. I guess I figure, 3 strikes and you're out.
