Those here that will not countenance the fact that the Govt. could have orchestrated 9/11, or would pass laws to restrict our freedoms claim they need arms because they cannot trust the Government totally and may need to defend themselves.

Is this another example of cherry-picking hypocrisy?

dstr, There you go... I know who the conspirators are and they certainly are not me or you. That is why my question is there. Hypocrisy in a grand scale Rules. OK.

No you can not win here not because you are wrong but because you are preaching to a group of close minded individuals. I do not believe the government orchestrated 9/11 and I do carry a side arm. Am I a hypocrite? Yes, in so many ways. I constantly tell my children to act in certain ways when I know darn well I act differently.
In this instance I feel free to say that upon my own research I find that 9/11 was not a government plot, rather a break down of government bureaucracy. I would find it difficult to weld my weapons upon the government everytime they proved inept....I'd simply go broke trying to buy ammo....

It wasn't the question that was dumb but a lot of the answers sure were. I can't believe there are so many people out there that are so closed minded, blinded to the facts and so opinionated.

1. Is it possible for the Government to of implemented such a skim like 9/11 ya you could say so. In some aspects if you know anything about physics and construction of buildings there sure could be a government conspiracy and cover-up.

2.Here is some history of government cover-up/conspiracy, and questionable conspiracy Nov 1963 JFK shot and killed the jury is still out on that one, !973 Water Gate Theft, 1988 Oliver North Rep. Goat. And that's just a few to speak of.

So don't think that any Government can't start a conspiracy and then try covering it up isn't possible think again.

"You will never in your life convince me that the US government had any prior knowledge of 9-11"

I am guessing that you have not seen or read the Hart-Rudman report? I would not be surprised if you didn't. The report stated from different intelligence sources of "a plot to use planes as missiles and fly them into buildings." The reason you did not hear of this report (that by the way came out on Sept 5, 2001) is because not one mainstream media source in this country ran the story. The findings of the report was only published by international news agencies. Just thought you should know that the government had prior knowledge.

Ok, first the facts just don't match the 911 claim, many beleive the government can do evil things, but you can't see it here.
There were terrorists on the planes, ( known fact) the planes hit the towers and the pentagon,( known fact) what the government stored or did not store in those buildings we may never know. This can well be part of the problem with the buildings falling, not what we did, but what we could have stored there.

we know this because people were on those planes, and they are dead, some talked to thier love ones from the planes.

And yes we beleive laws can be passed to restrict our freedom, but of course that is why the Supreme court is there to protect those rights.
Now if you are speaking of the rules on POW's they never had US rights, and we actually gave them more rights than they ever had. So in general what I have seen was more protection of rights than any loss rights

and yes we are scared of the government if it goes bad, but that is the issue, right now it is not bad, it is working hard to protect us and help us.

So yes it all fits together, just not in the minds of those that can not accept the fact that terrroists who do not think like we do are wanting to kill and destroy us, for no real reason other than religion

Hi Humanist
Heres what I have found is those who lack the ability or integrity to dispute facts are always the first to say "conspiracy theory"
here is an example:
That intelligence agencies, financiers, terrorists and narco-criminals have a long history together is well established, but the Nugan Hand Bank, BCCI, Banco Ambrosiano, the P2 Lodge, the CIA/Mafia anti-Castro/Kennedy alliance, Iran/Contra and the rest were a long time ago, so there’s no need to rehash all that. That was then, this is now!

That Jonathan Bush’s Riggs Bank has been found guilty of laundering terrorist funds and fined a US-record $25 million must embarrass his nephew George, but it's still no justification for leaping to paranoid conclusions.

That George Bush's brother Marvin sat on the board of the Kuwaiti-owned company which provided electronic security to the World Trade Centre, Dulles Airport and United Airlines means nothing more than you must admit those Bush boys have done alright for themselves.
As you see I stated (3) facts...and I ask where are the conspiracies?...the only conspiracy is the one our own Government is getting away with!

I do not believe the government had anything to do with 9/11, to think otherwise would be just plain stupid,
As for why I have a S & W.....it is not because I cannot trust my government to the point I need to defend myself with weapons (I still do it at the ballot box thank you), but because I do not trust the SOB who lives next to me, or who is approaching me in a dark parking lot etc....I know that thanks to all the liberals, the ONLY justice I would ever get if someone assaulted me would be derived from my good ole' S&W!!

who says that? You will never in your life convince me that the US government had any prior knowledge of 9-11, much less took any part in it. Put down your bowl and read a newspaper. It has nothing at all to do with a citizens right to bear arms..that is in the Constitution you claim to dearly love...or have you put that argument aside in order to seem correct on this issue?

1-the govt COULD have done a lot of things.... though many of those things are highly improbable, and are only entertained by whack-jobs who though loose change and farenheit 911 were documentaries

2-the govt already restricts our freedoms

3-i dont think you grasp the 2nd amendment debate. free citizens dont need to have a reason for keeping something legal; the govt needs a reason to make something illegal - we're entitled to have arms simply because we're entitled to have arms. people like to hunt, and have protection against criminals. and some people just like guns.
