Haven't heard that. Is it a new strategy for bankruptcy?

I really don't get how empty seats would be a strategy to combat terrorists?

I see how it could be a strategy to waste fuel and destroy the environment a little faster.

Or a strategy to for airlines to raise the already extortionate prices in compensation for this measure.

Or a strategy to define stupidity....

I mean say a terrorist gets on board is the headline gonna be.

'737 destroyed by terrorists but worry not as ten seats were empty as part of our new strategy'

Nope I really don't get it! If someone does please explain.

They don't always fly with ten seats free. They over book the in the hope that some people wont show. I was recently on a flight where it was jam packed and some people had to be put on the next flight. They may try to do that on long haul but even then I think they would rather make money than have an empty seat.

And I still haven't got it?!

airlines always fly with at least ten seats empty. just in case someone needs three seats, ie like a sky stretcher or is ill . always tens seats spare on any aircraft Nothing to do with terror, the only terror is the yobs with credit cards who annoy other passengers, because they do not how to behave. Sky rage, no terrorists. unless bushes lot is on the f. plane.

It does indeed look like a logical extention to the present security measures imposed by the US administration. Even if sounding unreasonable at the moment...:-)) (prosecuting people for using certain words at check-ins, not allowing drinks or baby milk on the plane - it was not long ago that these things used to look unreasonable)
