retiredsl...thumbs up to you, however I am not politicizing it. I am simply pointing out that just because someone may not agree with you, doesn't mean you are "unpatriotic." The reboobs have done a good enough job of politicizing everything. I was just glad to see that the symbol of our liberty and freedom, which is to be cherished by all, was unknown to our so called patriotic reboobs.
PS I learned flag etiquette, because of my love for my country, I didn't rely on any one else to teach it to me. So if you claim to be truly patriotic, instead of being apathetic to flag etiquette and blaming everyone else cause you didn't learn, pick up a book and read about it. That's why I did when I was very young. Just so everyone knows, I fly the US, Irish, French, German, Spainish, and Mexican flag in front of my house to show pride in my full heritage.

Sorry if you think this is some kind of rant because you don't agree with my ideals. I am just sick and tired of getting all these e-mails arguing points, then when I give a logical answer in support of my ideal, they bring out the patriotism argument, because that's all they have left.

Whoa dude, take a deep breath. It's OK... You did GREAT and I love it you posted the site so folks can learn Flag etiquette. I had a boss who would order the flag flown at half mast when she decided it needed to be flown that way and she ripped me a new one when I gave her the American Legions Guidelines for flying our Proud Stars and Stripes..
These folks are ignorant to flag etiquette but most of them mean well.

Good job on knowing correct flag etiquette. Bad job on politicizing those who don't know flag etiquette. Where were they supposed to learn flag etiquette? In the public schools?
The Boy Scouts teach it, and you lieberals are trying to shut them down because they don't let boy-st*ck*rs sleep in the woods with their boys.
While I was impressed at your knowledge of flag etiquette, your attitude was such that I had to give your question a thumbs-down, and also went to the other question and gave you a thumbs down there, too.
Actually, it was sarcasm on my part to give you the two thumbs down. While your attitude is a bit disgusting, you do deserve kudos for your knowledge of flag etiquettte. Lieberals usually sew the flag on their rear-ends.
Fifteen years ago, my wife who is Mexican (legal) went back to Mexico for a couple weeks, leaving the kids with me. When she came back, I had the Mexican flag hanging by itself on the flag post in front of the house. No one said a word.
