i met this guy through my cousin. he moved in a few months ago and he lives a block away from me. we became close after a while even though i only saw him when my cousin was around. it started to annoy me so i just asked my cousin for the guy's number and we've been talking for about a week. he calls me a lot and i call him and i love talking to him. but one night i stayed up till midnight on the phone with this guy and my mom had a fit!! not only is the guy 2 years older than me, but he also goes to a school that doesn't exactly have the best reputation and she has a problem with that but he's not a bad kid at all!!!! she told me she didn't want me talking to him anymore which really isn't fair to me!!!! she can't take my friends away from me, can she??? what am i supposed to do????? i really like talking to him and i love being friends with him!! how do i get her to change her mind?? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes, i do have a cell phone but my parents get the bill which doesn't really work in my favor. and no, it doesn't matter how old i am. but 2 years isn't really a big difference, is it???

Ask your mom if she knows something about this guy that you don't. That you would like to know why she feels that it's not acceptable for you to be friends. If she doesn't real have a problem with him. Might ask her if she was to talk to him (ask him over so she can see for her self that he's alright guy). If then you could be friends with him. Pick your timing when she is in a good mood not after you have a argument with her and don't start out to defend him just ask for info that could help solve your problem. If she does have something bad to say about him just list even if you don't agree. If you fight with her rigth then and take he's side you could have a harder time changing her mind about him. Peace

Every parents are like that..she is just afraid that you would get bad influence from him.If you just like to talk to him, get a cell phone or chat with him or something..or just maybe you should introduce your friend to your mom and show how much nice he is...she might change her mind

talk to your mom about it. say,"mom, i know you don't like me talking to this guy, but is it really fair for you to choose my friends. im old enough now to know which friends i know i should keep and the ones i throw out. but hes a keeper.i know he may be a little older than me,mom, but im not dating him. we're just friends.please don't put me in this situation and just hear me out." then just walk away. or if she has anything to say then listen her. after all she is the adult and you should show her respect. if she listened to you, then you should listen to her
