Hello! the festival of lights begins from 21st to 24th October this year.It is very important festival in hindu's.At the sametime "IId Mubarak".

Diwali-the festival of lights is on 21st October,2006,Saturday.It is an amavasya day. It is very widely celebrated all over India.It signifies good over evil and it is celebrated by bursting of crackers,wearing new dress,exchanging gifts,sweets to friends,relatives,and neighbours.It spreads warmth,joy and happiness to all.In fact most of them perform pooja to goddess laksmi for peace,prosperity and power. each house is decorated with rangolis,diyas and festive decorations.

In southern part of India Deepawali is celebrated on 20th night ( 21st Early morning 04.00 hrs). In northern India is is on 21st evening. In west Bengal the kali puja equivalent to deepawali is on 20th Evening. ( All days in October)
