My doctor mentioned something about my pH being off and suggested some pills you can get over the counter at health food stores. But it seems like I'm getting it every few months so I go into the doctors office, get the antibitics (flagyll) and then end up with a yeast infection on top of that that needs to be treated. Is there anything else I can do to keep this from coming back? I've followed advice of not wearing panties with my pantyhose, only cotton underwear, no douching, no scented soaps or sprays....what's going on???

One thing my doctor said that can be useful in warding off BV is to make sure you pee right after you have sex- every time, no matter what! And if you can't go to the bathroom, just run some water over yourself to clean off a little bit. Another thing he told me is to put an acidopholus (I'm not positive I spelled that correctly,) tablet inside your vagina a few times a week. I usually do this at night time and by the morning it will have dissolved. You may have some discharge the next day from the tablet, but it really helps keep BV from happening. After awhile you can use it only when you notice some of the BV symptoms happening. Good luck!

Bacterial Vaginosis (in the different case conventional as a yeast an infection) will be reason out of your era, dirty underclothes, and sex besides. once you're on your era, you both placed on a pad or a tampon (which both carry germs) it truly is one way it could be brought about because germs are only sitting round and at the same time as your era is over this motives an infection. dirty underclothes has an same theory. sex is somewhat diverse although. because you're having sex (with or devoid of a condom), there is alalotf moisture happening in there in the time of AND after sexual sex. too a lot moisture is what motives bacterial vaginosis. some recommendations you could treatment it truly is by skill of dozing devoid of underclothes... so ththere'sir and the germs are killed by skill of the air, eat yogurt, or the perfect way is canestan 3 day answer. Canestan will be got here across at any drug keep. this will be what's struggling with you from getting pregnant.. possibly the sperm cant get by .. see your accepted practitioner. wish THIS helps !

I had that once, my doctor gave me a dose of flagil but I think she was sort of unconcerned about it. I remember she suggested using vineagre douche and yogurt for itching. Try not to take the antibiotic, it could be making your balance worse. Are you maybe obsessing about it? If your pH is alittle off, does it matter? If it is itching down there, you can use an over the counter cortisone cream .5%. Is your doctor worried about it? If it doesn't bother you, don't worry.

Antibiotics can trip off the yeast infection. The yeast discharge may allow the bacteria to stay near your vagina long enough to re-infect you.

Starting with the yeast, check out www.hufa.org - the yeast link, and see if that helps any with learning how to break the cycle. Has your doctor cultured the vaginosis to determine what bacteria it is?

Hope this helps.

You might check your eating habits (what you eat, when you eat); see if it occurs more when you eat certain foods; does it happen close to your menstrual cycle (beginning or end), are under stress or feeling stressed?

These things can also contribute to this.

Is your doctor a regular Dr or a gyne? You may want to see a specialist so they can better monitor these things and do specific tests to determine the origins of the infection and possibly prescribe different meds to confront it and maybe "cure" you of it.

I'll keep you in my prayers...there are so many things for women to worry about, and this should be last on your list.

In Jesus' name you SHALL be healed!

You may be wiping yourself the wrong way. If you are inadvertently getting feces into there, you will get an infection. Or if your significant other is going from the anal area to the vaginal area, then he/she could contaminate you. Be aware of what is happening. Pay attention to how you perform your toileting habits and cleaning. Talk to a nurse and have her show you the correct procedure.

using Boric acid capsules will really help with this constant bacterial infection. It changes the pH. this is the only thing that helped me I had this going on for 3 years till I tried the boric acid and have NOT had one since or yeast either
This site tells how to make them though it just mentions yeast but its used for both

Or your doc can write a script and you can have a pharmacy compound it for you. thats what I do.

has your sexual partner been treated? If you only have 1 partner then it is likely that he has it as well and is reinfecting you. this happened to a friend of mine and her husband. once he was treated the cycle stopped. good luck.
