can i write for example 10x in a cd labeled 4x?

It's not advisable to even think of it. It very likely wouldn't write properly and you run the risk of permanently damaging your CD drive. If it's labeled 4x it's low quality and might be unbalanced at a higher speed, damaging the lens and possibly even breaking apart.

Most of your burning programs reconize the speed of the CD. If you chang it top a higher speed it will tell you that you need a different kind of a CD

you can attempt this if you have cd burning software that allows it. but i wouldn't recommend it, because you may end up burning a coaster, that has no useable data on it. keep your burn speed at or below the speed of the drive or the recommended speed of the disc, whichever is lower, and just be patient. it really doesn't take that long anyway.

You can, but it will probably be a bad burn. Get cds that are rated at the highest possible speed of your burner.

The lower the speed is the better the result. it takes longer thou.

Yes, But It's Not Recommended.

If it does happen to work somehow,
it's often the case that the drive that wrote it might be able to read it but other drives cannot.

no i would not recommend it because the speed a drive is said to hav is wat it is dersigned for. SO THE FINAL ANSWER IS NO.
