Fuses are ok,The signal lights stopped working but came back 3 different times.I have flashes working fine but no blower or rear defroster either and they are different fuses.A short taking out 3 different devices seems odd.Any ideas? Thanks!

Not sure.
There are large relays under the hood of the car, which enable power to various electrical systems such as headlights etc. They are enclosed in a plastic cover, and should be labled.
See if you can find the one that affects those systems, and check that it is properly in place. Tap on it with the handle of a screwdriver, and see if it is stuck. Relays can stick after years of service.

Clean the blades which hold the fuse, you know the place where you plug the fuse in.
The contacts may have some corrosion on them which will in turn make an intermittent connection with the fuse.

You didn't say what kind of car you have, so all I can suggest is to look for corrosion somewhere in the wiring to the fuse block, or under hood fuse block or relay center.

You have a loose ground or 2. Check in the trunk area where the rear harness is grounded. Check under the dash (on left side) for that ground wire(black)
