This is a very good point.. Why stop at handguns, what's wrong with an Uzzi, maybe a bazooka or two, why not an army trench machine gun?
Civilized societies should not have weapons. We give the police the priviledge of carring weapons. This protects everyone.

The citizens need to be as well armed as a corrupt government.
The right to bare arms is all about the citizens having the power necessary to oust and overthrow the corrupt plutocrats that our founders knew would inherit the control of the Nation.

The constitution reads "a well regulated militia." Meaning there should be restrictions on who has weapons and what kind of weapons. Actually some of the founding fathers were all for banning pistols because of the increased murder rates.

I think we should have any thing the military has. its not the weapon that kills people, its the ignorant person pulling the trigger. If you don't believe in your right to bare arms, look up Australia's crime rate before they gave up their right to bare arms, and after they gave up their guns. You will see exactly why we have the right to bare arms.
