I always go with the honesty is best policy. It actually works with adults. You tell them how you feel in a calm dignified way and explain that you are hanging with this person because _______ .... generally you can win them over. Honesty makes them feel a bit uncomfortable and yet they learn to trust you.

Keep the friendship and ignore them. If they don't want him/her at the house, go to her house. It's normal for parents to have diffrent opinions than their kids and you will not always agree. So keep being friends (unless of course she's on crack or something like that). Talk to them and tell how your friends could be really good. If that doesn't work forget about them (for this situation). Besides, she/he's your friend not theirs!

There might be a valid reason that your parents don't like your best friend... ask them why!

Trust your parents. Rather you want to believe it or not - they do know what's best and they see things more clearly than you do.

tell your parents he/she is your best friend and whether they like him/her or not you still will be best friends but say it gently. Also tell your friend that they should try to be nicer to your parents or try to avoid contact with them :S

Try to get your parents to see the good side of them. If they don't they should buzz off. they are your friends not theirs.
