You can't really say Americans don't like soccer, there is several million kids who kick a ball everyday.
It is just that it isn't the most popular sport. But it is catching on. Sometimes when the US plays, there are near capacity crowds in big stadia like Soldier Field, Pasadena's Rose Bowl, in DC's RFK Stadium.
And you've probably noticed that several leading European clubs have made the US a regular pre-season stop.

I like it, but I'm Australian. I guess soccer in America isn't as popular as, say, baseball and American football. But I distinctly know that many kids in America play soccer. Maybe they just don't pursue it when they get older? Hmm.
Well, in Australia, we received a boom when FIFA World Cup fever hit the country. I guess it has lessened down a fair bit, with other codes of football (Aussie Rules and Rugby League) prominently dominating the television sets in the winter season and cricket in the summer.

I love soccer. I love the game and the skills it requires. My favorite part is doing the tricks and everything, not to mention winning.
