I want to know how to take care of an orphan baby mouse. I found him in our laundry room on the floor and his eyes r still shut. He is too young to be on his own and I don't have the heart to just give him to the cat or throw him out in the yard to freeze to death. Please tell me what to do!!!

The mouse's mom is dead. My dad set mouse traps to get rid of the mice not knowing there would be a mother mouse killed in doing so.

i'm going to forward you to an excellent, excellent article on the rat & mouse club of america's website. pointers: hydration, helping the infant eliminate (would've been the mom doing this); and heat. good luck to you and the little one.

You need to go to the pet shop and get him a small cage or something, even an old fish bowl or shoe box would do, you need to put shavings and stuff on the bottom of the cage/bowl/box. Then make sure he drinks water and feed him, he'll need to be kept warm it he is an orphan and dont let the cat anywhere near him.

You can call the vet and find out exactly what to feed him, you can also get a water dispenser from the vet for him.

Hope he survives

Baby mice are so cute.

Did you take the mouse to a vet? If it was a mouse running loose in the house it could be a carrier to many diseases.

Good luck.

Baby mice usually don't make it on there own without their mother's. You could try feeding it a milk formula with a eyedropper. You need a heat lamp to keep it warm. Go to your local pet store and see what they have for feeding orphan animals.

You are going to need milk replacer and a eye dropper to feed
the mouse and keep it warm. Milk replacer can be bought at a pet store feed the milk by dropper they won't need much and it
must be warm as well.

The first answer is probably correct, but ask at the pet store, just to be sure. They would know,as most pet stores sell mice.I just had to commend you for having the heart to try something that might be a bit difficult.Hooray for you!
