If you have Windows XP, service pack 2, plugging in the USB cable to your USB port will cause XP to automatically detect and install the drivers for whatever device is on the other end of the cable.

Find out where the USB plugs are. Some are usually found in the front of the tower box, and more will be in the back. Simply plug your USB device in and the pc should recognize it.

it depends on what your using it for but for instance if your trying to hook a webcan or printer you just plug in the device with the computer off and start your computer and it will show an icon in the system tray (found new hardware ) click on it and use cd to install it .

mp4,mouse,keyboard,webcam.infra red.even prainter can be used on usb...
some need driver even in winxp some dont work without driver..
just plug it..and wait a while..tell new hardwarte shows up..or it installs alone.
