The question is flawed since it is only asking for answers from people who like the name, which leaves me out!
It is in fact a terrible name that will haunt the child her entire life. People will constantly bombard her with stupid questions. They will constantly mispronounce it. They will constantlly misspell it. She will become a devious liar in order to come up with some reason that she was stuck with such a horrible name.
I pity her already! Poor little kid. She will probably become the evil witch in the book by the same name.
There is a nearby choice that is a better one:
TANIQUA
Gender: Feminine
Usage: English (Modern)
Pronounced: ta-NEE-kwa
Modern name, perhaps an elaboration of TANIA
TANIA
Gender: Feminine
Usage: English
Pronounced: TAHN-ya, TAN-ya
Short form of TATIANA
TATIANA
Gender: Feminine
Usage: Russian, Slovak, Bulgarian, Romanian, Polish, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, English, Ancient Roman
Other Scripts: ТаÑÑÑна (Russian), ТаÑÑна (Bulgarian)
Pronounced: ta-tee-AN-a, ta-TYAN-a, tah-TYAH-nah (Spanish, Italian)
Feminine form of the Roman name Tatianus, which was from the Roman name Tatius, which is of unknown meaning. Several early saints bore this name.
;-D Too bad parents can not be charged with cruel and unusual punishment crimes for the names they give their kids!

Forgive me for saying this but it reminds me of the 60s when many people were trying to "connect with their 'heritage' " with some rather unusual "exotic" names; White kids were JUST being named Rain or River or Winter... and Blacks started trying to "sound" equally exotic by choosing such names as Tamiko, Shantee, Diamond, Tawanda, Tamika... Taniqqua?... it's simply not what I'd call MY daughter, with all my ethnic pride and all.
How about something a little less "exotic" for a little girl that will grow up and have to deal with her name? Want something different? How about Cecilia? Her nickname would be "Ceci" and she wouldn't have to have kids making fun of her! (I chose that particular name at random, no particular reason).
