I have a tattoo on the back of my neck...just under my hair line. Of the 3 that I have, that one was by far the most painful. Much more so than the one on my shoulder blade or my ankle. I will be getting on in November on my left arm and all I can say, is I hope it doesn't hurt as much as the one on my neck :)

All tattoos hurt! They just hurt differently...I find the arm hurts like being sliced with a razor...but after awhile you go numb and it feels like scratching a really bad sunburn. On the side of the neck it really hurts like you're being sliced and you don't seem to get numb and it's a nauseating pain that kinda makes you feel like throwing up.

It depends on your level of pain tolerance. I have a fairly high pain tolerance and I would say my neck tattoo (on the side) was one of the more painful ones. ( I also have one on my leg, hand and 12 on my arms)

My daughter has both in those places and she says the neck is worse then the arm. Her arm one is like, if you turned your hand out like someone wat putting something in your hand, it's from her wrist to her elbow.
