The British would have been the dominant super power in the world for much longer.
The American revolution really beat them back and showed them they were not all powerful. Britain would have continued their conquests around the world. They would have overtaken the Spanish in Mexico after the French in Canada, and they would have controlled all of North America.
This would result in two things: either the regions of North America all break into separate countries (meaning a Europe- type setup of many countries interacting and trading) or Britain would fall the same fate as the Romans, being spread across the whole world someone (possibly France or Spain, although they were both having revolutions at the time) would have totally destroyed them and all their belongings.
America would not exist as it is today because it would either be a series of smaller countries ranging from Canada to Mexico or it would go through a massive war against another superpower, and form a large country, such as the American Revolution did, but only in a radically different way. They would be fighting against another country, so they would not have abandoned British beliefs, if anything it would reinforce them and America would be like a large, strongly British, Britain.

Well...first, the American Revolution was inevitable. The only thing that could have changed was the time frame. The actions of Great Britain pushed the hand of the colonists.
Now, assuming that the American Revolution NEVER happened...I think that Great Britain would still be the worlds greatest superpower. Other countries would have tried to bring down Great Britain, but it woulnt have worked.
I also think that there would have been major effects on later events that are defining moments in the history of the world as we know it. Events such as WWI, WWII, Vietnam and other such wars. These are all wars that the United States had an instumental role in, this role would have completely changed if the United States as not the country that it is now.
Organizations that were created by the US, such as the United Nations, and NATO would no longer be present. The world would have also possibly lost its greatet consumer.
There are many events that would be different if the revolution had never occured, or if it had failed.

It would have happened much the same, only peacefully and a bit later. Canada, Australia and New Zealand were for all practical purposes independedt nations by 1900.
Yes, stretching from the Arctic to the Rio Grande there might now be a British North America, but "British" in the sense of British Columbia. It would be the greatest country in the world and no doubt its govt would be throwing its weight around and wondering why the rest of the world didn't LURVE it.
As for the British Empire, it would be a casualty of the 20th century come what may.

The War of the American Revolution is one of the pivitol wars of human history.
If there was no war then it would not have inspired the French to overthrow the Monarchy. No French Revolution meant no Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. The countries of Central and South America would have never broke free of Spain, Portugual(think Brazil) or France(think Haiti); thus the wars there would have never happened. There would be no Republic of Liberia(the closest to a colony The US had in Africa- resettled freed slaves). The War seriously delayed an Irish rebellion. Because of the War of the Revolution the Irish were able to get political concessions vital for civil rights. Japan would have never opened up to the West. The Boxer Rebellion would have never occured(Started because 4 Denver newspaper reporters got together and forged a story about an American firm being contracted to tear down the Great Wall of China). I can go on and on. The incident that occured on that fateful day in Lexington, Massachusetts is not called "The shot heard around the world" for nothing.

Does anybody remember that the British Empire was created using the resources of Britain and it's people, imagine what it could of been if it had the resources and manpower of America as well all under the British Empire banner. Talk about superpower - quite worrying really. India would just be used for production of tea as most of the world would be forced to drink it...
No, as much as I find the Americans irksome and feel some pity for the dear old Canadians, what with the French on one side and the Americans on the other I think Britain is better off by having lost that battle.

Well, America would be pretty much like it is now.
America had a period no other country did where individualism was stressed. In a way, revolution was inevitable.
Hypothetically, if no revolution would have happened at all, so many great strives would never have been made.
India would still be British, as Ghandi never would have had the balls to do what he did.
Canada wouldn't have gathered what little balls they did to say "No more!" to Britain.
Hitler would probably rule the world.
America wouldn't have had the super balls to do what they did in WW2. They simply wouldn't have been strong enough even if they wanted to.
And Britain was getting BEAT DOWN by the Nazis, too.
So, no American Revolution would have an almost direct effect with the Nazis.

The USA would probably be the way it is now...for life style, etc....but it would belong to the Commonwealth of Nations. You'd still have your president and system of government, but Queen Elizabeth II would be the head of state. I don't think it would be one big country or be like Canada...the other members of the Commonwealth of Nations are not like Canada, they just recognize the queen as head of state and have different cultures and traditions.
There wouldn't be all this hoopla over free trade with the usa and travel between the two countries would be a lot easier. I think it would have changed a lot of world events and the world would be a different place than it is today...how different...no idea...but different.

We'd probably be a bit more like Canada or Australia. We'd still have a tie to England (like we do now.) We might have a Prime Minister instead of a President.
I doubt we'd naturally have gone from sea to shining sea, but who knows?! We might have been a mega-Canada, going from California upon to the Yukon back down to Florida!
