As a guy living in Melbourne, I reckon you are going to be hard pressed to find a date mainly because of your age. Most people are friendly enough, and nobody really will have any hang ups that you are black or American - actually both score you points for interest.
If you really want a guy, head over to a high school before mid December, let someone you are attracted to know your number (or grab theirs) and see what goes on. That way you have company and can see what he and his group of friends are like to better judge them as safe or not safe to hang out with. Most schools would be happy to give you a visitors pass for a day and even buddy you up with someone who has similar interests, just call and ask the principle.
Good luck :D

*yawn* *rubs eyes* its 5:50 a.m. - could not this have waited? i don't think of Australian gay as against Canada gay is a trouble-free assessment. Australians regardless of sexuality tend to be open, friendly and trusting of maximum human beings and particular, it quite is a similar by way of the rustic. yet we've bitchy gays, boastful gays, annoying gays like everywhere else. Melbourne has been voted the quantity a million city in the international various cases so a ways as liveability is going so its a stable determination...notwithstanding Sydney is definitely extra astounding (biased Sydneysider of direction lol).

Aussie guys are lovely. To meet a really sweet Aussie guy, I would recommend that you leave the capital cities and head for the outback or smaller towns. They are all very friendly and will welcome tourists.
It is strange that it seems that some people who have answered have the impression that you would only be dating a dark man? Lots of my friends are in inter-racial relationships and have had no problems in my town. There are all types of men in Australia - the bronzed surfie, sleek city guy, rugged outback, aboriginal, multi-cultural etc.

I live here and I can tell you... guys here are probably just like every other guy in any other country lol. They can be nice, some are sincere and genuine... but of course, you can always run into a couple of genuine idiots. The good thing about aussie guys is that they're pretty laid back. I'm sure they'd love to get to know you.

Exactly, far too young to be worried about any of our boys. And for te record they are hot! Choose a nice blonde muscular surfer boy - when you are legal. You are too young for consensual relations in Australia and any decent guy won't go near you because of that. Anyone who will isn't worth your time.
