Maradonna, was by far the best player of all time. Football has improved immensely over the years players are far fitter, have less time on the ball than they used too, and the game is far quicker than its ever been. players now are athletes, whereas years ago, players had much more time on the ball and were alot less fit. Maradonna had everything, speed, balance, agility, skill, everything required for the modern game. He destroyed teams, most notably winning the world cup 86 singlehandedly!old sentimentalists will argue that the other too were better but thats complete nonsense.

Yea yea Pele and Best might be better than Maradona but I dont understand why people are bringing up that Maradona was a cheating drunken fat guy and people are even bringing up Rooney into this article, and I know Maradona hurts Argentina's reputation really bad but guess what... We have Lionel Messi to make up for it he is better than Rooney (everyone says so, TV, magazines, internet) and at his age of 19 he's already playing as one of the best players of the world, just imagine him 5 or 6 years from now how good he'll be playing. Maradona good, Pele better,George best, Messi even better.

Dear acerimmer,
I believe that all of them are somehow great.To be honest with you,each of these players are great at some aspects.We can evaluate a player in Speed,Technique,Accuracy,Assiduity and even manner and Fair Play.
George Best(MAY GOD BLESS HIM) was more well-known in Europe,especially in Great Britain while Edson Arantes Do Nascimento (Pele) is more famous in the world.
Never forget that Diego Armando Maradona was a Technical Player and never forget his famous goal against England,But Diego lost some of his popularity due to the drug problems,by the way.
I can not tell you who is better than the others.
I love football and all of the stars.

There is a saying Maradona good, Pele better, George Best.
But I would put Cryuff in place of maradona who was nothing short of a cheat. Hand of God translated into Argentinian is yes I am a cheat. If he was that good he would not of used his hand and he would have admitted what he had done straight away. Who is to say that like other sports if he had been tested for drugs he would have had his career cut short.
