sounds like you already have a price in mind. add all those things together and decide how much your time/labor is worth, add that in and you have the price. but remember it is for a friend...

How fancy are you decorating these slab cakes? If they are just plain, Then i would charge material plus a nominal fee for labour. If you are getting fancy on them then i would charge material plus an increased charge for labour as she would be paying for your expertise... A grocery store would probably charge $30 for a plain slab cake, so for 2 i would charge $60. now if it is fancier then i would go with $ 150- 200 depending on how fancy. A wedding cake from a professinal cake maker would have cost her well over $200 so if you are making her 2 realtively nice nice slab cakes that i wouldn't say that those prices are to outrageous.

Did she order them with you or did she ask you to help her out. Did you agree on payment before you started?
It's your friend, if you didn't talk about money before you made them, you should be ashamed of yourself if you ask for any money besides the direct costs for the ingredients.

are you a pastry chef? if not do it for free, let her buy the ingredients and just do it for free. that is what friends are for. this is the best day of her life, and you want to charge her? i thought you said she is your friend. give it to her as a wedding gift.God bless you.
