The simple answer is yes. There are several reasons why....
Normally a woman's menstrual cycle lasts for 28 days. On day 1, your period begins. It may last through until day 3 or all the way to day 7. Most women ovulate on day 14. This means the most opportune time to get pregnant is days 13-15. However.....
1-Sperm can survive for up to 5 days inside the female body, in perfect conditions.
2-Some cycles are longer or shorter than 28 days.
3-Some women ovulate on a day other than day 14.
4-Eggs survive for around 48 hours.
5-Sometimes a woman's body goes haywire and releases an egg at a random time.
Alright...add all of this together....and.....You could have sex on your period, and 5 days later still have live sperm inside you. You might ovulate on a day very close to your period, instead of day 14. Your body might release an egg during your period, or shortly thereafter, even though this is not regular ovulation.
So, in short, period or not....have protected sex, or no sex at all, if you don't want a bundle of joy on the way!

Well Matt B your answer is yes. I went to birthing classes with my daughter and the nurse told us a very unsettling story that lead to the fact that a woman can get pregnant on her period or even right after childbirth. So please be very careful and always use protection anyway.
Oh yes. Remember, nothing but nothing is 100% safe by itself except abstaining. Or maybe getting fixed of witch I think your not at that age yet to worry about...lol

It's rare, but not unheard of.
If you're not ready to be a dad, please use protection, or just wait until you're ready.
