There are some misconceptions that I see in your question.
The most important is that hypnosis is a real state of mind, not an act. It is not possible to predict who will be a good hypnotic subject.
Maybe you will be able to reach a deep sleep quickly enough for a stage presentation, maybe not.
Usually the expert hypnotist can test a possible subject to determine how quickly hypnotic trance can be achieved.
There are degrees of hypnotic trance which vary in depth with each person. Some subjects go into deep sleep with very little guidance. Note that subjects enter hypnosis by themselves - unless a hypnotic drug is used of course. When a person simply relaxes themselves and takes a deep breath, they are in the first stage of self hypnosis. Hypnotic trance is a natural mind state, but deep sleep under the guidance of the hypnotist is obviously not common, and is often hyped up for public viewing as you state as one of your goals. Your friend needs to be responsible in the training and practice of hypnosis.

I wonder if you are a good subject for hypnosis. It will help you to realize that hypnosis is not a game nor a process that should be used just as entertainment. It can be very useful to you if you wish to gain more control over your own mind. It can help you control habits such as over-eating or smoking that are sometimes deeply entrenched in our behavior. It can help you remember events from your past. But hallucinations can also be suggested to the sleeper as in a dream. After the sleeper awakes, they might remember the hallucinations and be quite unhappy with you. Don't leave bad suggestions in the mind of the sleeper.

As a stage performance, use it to memorize the names of every person in the first row of the theater! Start on the left, and have the person in the audience call out their name. When the last person on the right has called out their name, go back, point at each one, and recite the names of all the people in order.

;-D Be careful and responsible in your use of this fascinating and yes, entertaining human ability. Good luck!
