1. I don't patronize people, or businesses, that are red-neck, discriminatory, inflammatory.
2. A few years ago it was the anti-gay remark. Now it's the anti-Jewish remark. Mel may very well be a xenophobe.
3. He and Tom Cruise are on my boycott list.
4. Drinking irresponsibly, at his age, is just a way of prolonging adolescence.
5. He's sorry. He's sorry that it may affect his future income.

I'm not sure if I liked him to begin with. Braveheart was Ok and I like Ransom but mostly for Gary Senise. I could take or leave Mel Gibson. People can say some pretty terrible things when they are drinking though...

Absolutely! Alcohol affects different people differently, even different drinks can affect the same person differently, and for anyone whos ever been in that posistion where theyre totally wasted, you can do and say stupid stuff. Lord knows I have! Who am I judge him for actions that in essence I myself have done as well? Just because hes famous doesnt mean hes exempt from mistakes, or a fallen nature. So yeah, I think hes an awesome actor, with an overall good character!

From what I've heard, Mel doesn't only say anti-semitic things when he's drunk.
I DO like him as an actor, but I don't think I like him as a private person.
(even tho I very well realise he must have a lot of good qualities as well)

He has the same thoughts when he is sober, they just come out when he gets drunk. I cannot stand a racist that denies they are a racist. I was shocked that Mel does not care for the Jews.

Yes, I have alot of respect for this man. Alcohol makes some people say stupid things that they normally wouldn't think of saying. I truly believe that's what happened to him. That's why I have never and never will use alcohol. I have enough trouble keeping my mouth under control without that kind of help.

Everyone makes mistakes, and I forgive him. He is one of the most talented actors, directors, and producers of this century. It is truly unfortunate that the entire world can judge one person for one act. The last time I checked, no one is without sin and therefore not perfect. If we had to judge ourselves, we would not be judged.

I have no use for any so called movie stars. They have such dreadful attitudes, and don't seem to have or want any connection with the real world. I suppose I really feel sorry for them.
