I've been reading some Q's and A's for a couple of weeks and noticed that some of you guys were asking certain questions about who's the most devoted fan, who's the peace-maker, etc. and I thought I might as well make my mark while I'm a new user here. You guys might already know my sister, hannan, and she's always busy with school, so I decided I should come check this site out. She's definately more quieter that I am, you could even say I've got more spunk. Anyway, what should I do?

Most of the time, the ones who post controversial topics in their questions and answers are the ones who get noticed. In some ways, it's a sad reality.

Of course, that should not be the true reason to being in this category; you must have some devotion to football/soccer, be thoughtful in your questions and answers, but, most of all: have an opinion.

A lot of the questions here are based on opinion. This was illustrated when you mentioned questions about the most admired users, etc. Giving your opinion, it is best that you refrain from insulting and repeatedly attacking others as some users have done in the past.

Obviously, judging from the large amount of answers you have received for this question, you are already being recognized as a welcome user, so you're off to a good start! Just have your own voice, and respect everyone else. =)

I agree with the others, be yourself. Answer the questions you know the answers to, ask sensible, non-offensive questions (though some people get popular by being offensive) You make your own mark, we are like a family. I've been away for a couple of weeks cause I was very busy, but I really don't like the fact that some ppl think this is a popularity forum. Just go wit da flow... b cool and answer away... lol

I've said it once and I'll tell you again. It doesn't really matter about being popular, it's about answering questions. We're both in this forum b/c we love football and it should stay like that. That's why the whole Yahoo Answers thing is so corrupted, too many people don't use this place to their advantage. Look at me for instance, I am not crazy and outgoing, so people don't seem to notice my answers.

Anyway, there are a few people that may seem crazy to you at first, but we're all like that sometime. And if anyone gets on your rough side, I got you back ^_^

I think the most important thing to remember is not to take things too personally around here. (Easier said than done sometimes though.) To me, my goal in visiting Answers isn't really to be "noticed", but to just make positive contributions.

It can annoying though, when I ask a question I need honest feedback on and get no answers, then I see someone ask the most idiotic question and get 38 answers.

My advice to you is to visit Answers just to visit, instead of trying to become a legend or something, not that that's your intention.

Anyway - welcome!

First, I would have to say that accents are not lost, they're just not as distinguishable, they persist even after years. If you have learned English before puberty and I mean around 10 years of age then there is a chance that your English sounds like the area where you learned it. If not then you are simply mimicking an accent while you are talking. Take for exemple the comedians who imitate other accents and voices, they have to apply themselves to do it but they are doing it. I can talk like I'm from the South US but that doesn't last, my French accent quickly comes out.
So, welcome...to this international site.

well...first things first I suppose,
Do you love football?

after that, you'll find your way in, in no time and it will be a matter of seconds till you start standing out.

This place tends to get a little crazy at times...a little advance notice, there's certain person by the name of Touzours (sssshhhh, don't mention his name too loud cause he's M.I.A these days, you don't want to have him back here...)
if he offends you in any way, just ignore...(but I don't listen to my own advice so, idk)

cool, another awesome New-Yorker to populated the place!

And what else can I say...? who can help me sum up the whole football thing in one answer?
