no, it gives them 'home field advantage'. meaning, they will open( and close, if necessary), the individual series in their home field.

so if you talking a best of seven series, the team with home field advantage, will open that series with two games in their home park then they will travel to the opposing teams stadium, to play two or three games there. if by that time nobody wins the series, they travel back to their home field to play up to two more games.........

No, Not all their games are played at home. But they do have home feild advantage up unitl the World Series

Division Series- 3 of the 5 games will be played at the home stadium of the team with the best record

League Championship Series- 4 out of the 7 games will be played at the home stadium with the best record

World Series- The All Star Game decides who has the home feild advantage in the World Series., and the record doesn't matter anymore.(the format changed after the 2001 season, before it was whoever had the best record that decides Home Feild Advantage) This year the American League has home feild Advantage. So 4 out of the maximum 7 games will be played in the AL Home Stadium.

No. All major league teams play pretty much equally at home and away. The best teams in baseball, or any other team sport for that matter, must be able to win on the road in order to be a competitor for a divisional playoff.

The best teams get home field advantage, meaning is a five game series they get three home games and in a seven game serier they get four home games (I think at least the first and the last).

In baseball the home field advantage for the World Series is now determined by the team that wins the All-Star game.

For the playoffs, you mean? No - they get home field advantage, which means they play the majority (4 out of 7) at home.
