a=(x-b)/(1-2b)

how did I get this?
x = a+b-2ab
x = a-2ab+b
x = a(1-2b) + b
x-b = a(1-2b)
(x-b)/(1-2b) = a

Starting from:
x = a + b - 2ab

add (2ab - a - x) to both sides
x + 2ab - a - x = a + b - 2ab + 2ab - a - x

simplify
2ab - a = b - x

Factor a
a(2b - 1) = b - x

Divide by 2b-1
a = (b - x) / (2b - 1)

FIrst, move the b over to the left with the x

x - b = a - 2ab

Next factor the a out of both terms on the right.

x - b = a(1 - 2b)

Now divide both sides by (1 - 2b)

(x - b) / (1 - 2b) = a

x=a+b-2ab subtracting b from both sides,
= x-b=a+2ab take a out on the right hand side,
= x-b = a(1+2b) divide both sides by (1+2b)
x-b/(1+2b) = a

done
