When I was little my cousin had a horse, but it stepped on a nail and they had to put it out. What happens to a horse if it steps in a nail? Sorry that I don't have more details, I was very little!

Poor horse probably got laminitis from the nail piercing his hoof and subsequent infection.
Poor thing, it's very painful and usually fatal because it cannot 100% successfully be treated once it sets in, it's like a 80% chance of NOT WORKING whatever they try!

Barbaro is successfully being treated for laminitis...

Depends onwhere the nail penetrates the hoof , if it is in the outer hoof it is painless and is like your fingernail with no sensitivity , but if it was in the center or frog of the foot it would be very painful to the horse and could easily lame the animal for life if it were left in or became infected

.Depends on what part of the hoof it went into. If it was the center the frog it might have done nerve damage. Or if it wasn't up to date on vaccinations, it might have gotten tetanus. Or they might not have wanted to deal with nursing the horse back to health
Sometimes nursing a horse back to health is very expensive and time consuming and some people see horses as live stock not as pets.

it could seriuosly damage the horse's hoof if the horse doesn't seek medical treatment right away. if not then the horse will become lame and won;t be able to be ridden. so if your horse does step on a nail make sure the horse gets medical treatment rigght away. hoped this helped

Yup, you have achieved each and every little thing real. The farrier won't would desire to shrink into her counting on how intense it quite is in keeping with what the vet says. As to restoration, i'm particular your vet supplies you a stable concept. probable would be waiting to bypass lower back to artwork after the full direction of antibiotics see you later as there are no issues, yet of direction, bypass via what the vet says.

sounds nasty. if it went rite into te centre of the frog, then it would hurt alot, coz it would most likely damage thee nevre. if it just went into the wall, unlikely, then just pull it out. if it went into the sole then it mite hurt abit, but i think it was abit harsh to put it out.
