Downloading from Sims 2 Website?

Have played the Sims 2 for quite a while, and I just heard that you can get free stuff and lodges in your game by going to the website, and dowloading stuff. I tried to, but I dont know how to do it, so please explain step by step.. and also: Do I write it on the cdrom, or something else?

Once you have registered your game, this is very easy to do.
To register, you go to Start- Programs- EA Games -The Sims 2 and do the Electronic registration option. Remember your password and user name.

While playing the game, you just go to the control icon on the left and hit the Asterisk. It will ask to go online and when you do, you log into the site. It will then show you items to download, sims and lots as well. These will be installed automatically into your game and you can play them right away from the family or lot bin or in the buy mode depending on what it is.

Otherwise, you go to the offical site and go to the Exchange.
You'll need to log in with your password and username. Then you are free to download anything you want on the site that has the same games you have. If you only have Sims 2 and not Nightlife, you cannot download things that require you to have nightlife.

You can download custom clothes and skins, but unless you have the meshes for unusual shapes, sometimes the hair styles and fashions do not work. In those cases, just sign the guest book of the person who put the sim stuff on their uploads and ask them where to get the meshes.

Things you click on the Official site will automatically be put into your game and download folder. If you try to get downloads from other sites, usually you have to pay or be careful that you know which folders to put them into.
