How do I get it to stop? It's faint but I can smell it on my clothes. I've tried running loads of just bleach water, but it didn't work! I've heard vinegar, but does that really work?

The only thing that will get it out for good is Simple Green. Buy it at Home Depot, follow directions on the amount to use per load, and run through a couple of wash cycles. Then one cycle of plain water. It works every time and it's good to use every few months to maintain freshness.

Try baking soda or vinegar, also check around the tub of the machine, in case a sock or something didnt get stuck on the outside of the barrel. It would smell like that.

Vinegar is cheap enough that I'd try it using a full quart. You can stop the musty smell by leaving the lid up when not in use so the wash tub dries.

Leave the lid open while the machine is not in use. Never leave clothes in the machine after they have been washed. Hang them out to dry straight away.

is this a front load or top load washer? I have heard of others having problems with front load, because all the water doesn't drain out
