How long do you think it will take for the us to win a World Cup

That is a very interesting question.

The US already has world-class goalkeepers playing in England - Keller and Howard for example so goalkeeping is covered. As for the rest of the positions, the US has a ways to go as defenders, mid-fielders and forwards are not individually skilled enough to match the top players in the world. Top European and South American players if given half a chance will score. Not so with the US where it is more soccer "by committee". There are now US players in Europe so they will be exposed to talent at the highest level that will eventually improve the level of the rest of the Americans players. In addition European and South American first rate players have to start seeing the US league as a viable place to play..

Finally, until the US gets away from the nationalistic crap that demands that the US head-coach be American, then the US will remain a very good second-tier soccer team only capable of beating first rate countries that do not field their best players.

Still all in all, I would say that the US needs another 4 - 6 World Cups before it is a legitimate contender for winning.

100 years?

While teams like Brazil, Germany and Italy are still around, the USA won't achieve much. Yes, the US are talented in sport, but due to the fact that soccer isn't a primary interest in America, it won't win over many supporters, hence the lack of interest in the FIFA World Cup.

When an American actually gives a bleep about soccer.

Goodluck in achieving that.

By the way, what time is the Patriots game on tomorrow?

(I DISAGREE WITH THE TWO PEOPLE BELOW ME. NASCAR IS STILL NOT A DOMINANT SPORT IN AMERICA. IT'S GROWING BUT ITS STILL NOT EVEN ONE OF THE TOP 4 SPORTS IN AMERICA. ITS ONLY POPULAR IN A FEW STATES IN THE SOUTH....DO GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT....AGAIN DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT TIME THE PATRIOTS GAME IS ON?)

I have no clue. I really believed in them this past year, but I was let down. I don't know why they can't do it, it's not like they are bad or anything. They just can't put the balls into the back of the net.
But I do enjoy watching the women win!

As long as silly sports like Nascar stay as one of the favourites in America, it will probably take at least 80 years

they ought to prepare their US electorate earlier they could compete, both a ssn#, start cert, or passport. none of those note, and if the guy by some potential nonetheless wins without it, it is going numbah 2 that does..
