I'm visiting home for the first time in two months, and I feel like I have no friends because everyone else is still in college (well, so am I, but I'm just visiting home and they're all away). So no one is in town and it makes me sad!/feel like I don't want to be here either.
But it's home..
home isn't supposed to be a sad place.
:(

People change, life changes and so does that home feeling. It is hard to accept that, but that's what happens when you grow up.
I recently moved back to my home town with my husband and my two kids. I thought it would be a dream. I find myself still spending my nights on this damn computer, and I want to have my old friends over for drinks, and get caught up on our lives. They are all still hanging out at the bars, and still want the party life. It's hard but I have to get use to the fact that I chose this life instead of the party life. When you make choices in life no matter what it is they will all come with different ups and downs.
There is nothing some can do about it, but in some cases there is a lot you can do about it. Visit for a little bit and realize that this isn't home anymore. You moved away to a new home.
Home is where the heart is.

That brings back such memories.

It is unsettling at first because you probably feel out of place. You aren't out of place, which is the good thing. You are now an adult coming home, believe it or not it's your parents that made "home" "home" and not your social life. It's different but not a bad thing.

Now you know what your parents felt when they too passed thru this phase. Have fun expressing this new feeling with your parents, you may learn you have more in common with them than ever imagined.

The unknown of how and what path your life will lead is kind of white knuckling, isn't it.?

Your true friends will remain in contact with you and some, that went unnoticed, will be revealed to you. (similar to Sandra Bullock's co-star in the movie Hope Floats. She didn't really notice him in highschool but look at the great things he really was) This is a roller coaster ride, smile and get ready for the plunge.

Youll be fine. Good luck to you.

You have actually answered this one yourself.

Home is not a place but a state of mind. you dont feel happy there because things are not the same as when you were there before.

Everyone else left for a reason, so did you, so your heart is no longer there, and home is where the heart is!

Well I don't feel like that because I am not in college but I do know that sometimes when I am at home by myself home doesn't feel like "home". Turn on the music, make home seem lively. are ur parents there? Spend some time with them. Let them know like hello I'm home it's time to celebrate!!!!!
