It depends...sometimes if it is so offensive I get a lil hot under the collar but there are times when people are just looking to get a rise out of you and I answer them with something so innocently bland and weird it probably takes the hot air out of their balloon...besides it does grab ones attention for better or worse. I myself would rather ask more constructive questions like say...how many variations of P. Diddy's name can you come up with? LOL

I usually ignore the question unless it really bothers me. Some people don't know they are being offensive. When I was student teaching, I had a student use the word "retarded." He was a great kid, he just didn't know that in polite society we do not use that word. (That word offends me because I have two brothers who are mentally handicapped and I just think it is a word that should not be used casually.) So some people just need to be set straight. I also can't stand when anyone is being racist. I either report, comment or both.

It's their chance to be a part of the conversation... ANY conversation. Why do people honk their horns? The offensive incident has already happened, and nothing can chnage, it's just a way of policing our fellow citizens-- to say that you didn't get away with that completely.

Because they want to let people know how they feel. I just ignore the questions and hope that the person in question stops.

To get points or express their distaste.

*shrug*

Nothing wrong with speaking up and expressing an opinion when you disagree with something.

Good question.....if we all just wouldn't say anything they would get bored of it and stop asking the stupid questions.
