apathetic- means you don't care about something as opposed to empathetic- you relate to what the other person is saying and
sympathetic- you feel bad for the other person

It simply means that you don't have an opinion on the subject one way or the other. You are emotionally detached from the situation. "A hunter in Indiana was injured when his gun misfired", I don't care about that. I live in Florida and that doesn't affect me at all.
