This is a very good question. It addresses a common stereotype about lesbians, one that says all lesbians are butch and do things like fixing cars, things that many people think are masculine activities. While some lesbians are athletic and do like to fix cars, some are not athletic, and like to sew. In addition, some heterosexual and bisexual women are athletic, and some of them like to fix cars. In addition, some gay men like to sew and others like to fix cars. The same is true for heterosexual and bisexual men. It's important to remember that each individual is unique, with a unique set of interests. Assumptions and stereotypes interfere with seeing people as they really are.
Your sister may be bisexual, a lesbian, or heterosexual. I suggest you let her know you care about her and want to hear about her life and her interests, no matter what they are. Thanks.

If you care about her you would just leave it be, it is not your concern if she is unless she wants you to know. No offense. But just because she is athletic and likes to work on cars does not mean she is lesbian. So do nothing, being gay will not make her a bad person, don't try to stop her from being who she is, that would not be right. Peace.

quick! throw holy water on her!
it took me a long time to come out, but just because a girl fixes cars or does things that men "normally" do doesn't mean she is gay. I am gay and I do things that are reserved for "straight" people. My sister, on the contrary is straight, but has made a career as a welder.
If she is, or if she is not, you should let het know that you love her. Drive that point home! being gay can be very lonely and isolate people because of how much society has demonized it.
Just love her unconditionally.

This doesn't necessarily mean she's lesbian. Maybe she's shy. Maybe she hasn't found the right person yet. It happens. Plus she's not old, and she has her whole life ahead of her. Don't assume things just because stereotypes teach you to do that. I would love to be athletic, and know more about cars...and I'm not gay! :)

Both my stepson and my stepdaughter are biological siblings!
My stepson does not like his sister. I keep telling him she is his
blood sister. She is a pearl of great price to him.
In life there is no material thing more valuable than blood family!
She is your sister. Love her no matter what! Do your best to always support her. She is more important to you than anything else in this world. Some day you may discover this. I encourage you to embrace the value she is to you fully.
And just let her be who she is just so long as she does no harm to others.
Have fun but be safe!
Once upon the sea of Blissful Awareness!!!

Your sister sounds like her life is fairly full at present. You make no mention of discord in the house so, given the hardest thing do do is to "come out", give her the breathing space she has at the moment. Accept her as she is.

Leave your sister alone, whatever she is you should be supportive of her. At present she's not interested in sex, so what. You don't need to do anything. It's possible she may be lesbian, hetero, or even transgender ... whatever, she's your sister. Have a little respect.

You shouldn't DO anything. What does it matter if she is a lesbian? Are you going to feel any diff towards her? I should think not. If it really bugs you, go talk to her make sure you tell her you'll love her either way you are just curious. I suggest you just mind your business though because if she wanted you to know she would tell you herself.

Why do you think you need to do anything? A "tom boy" is not a lesbian. If she doesn't date, she doesn't date, her state is envious, really. Forget the label, she's just your sister, nothing more, nothing less.

Nothing. Do you fantasize about her. If she says she is not a lesbian and is not sexual at all at 20, why would you push it? Your sis probably would agree, that it is none of your business. Get a life.
