Yes, I did. I even remember where I was when it happened. I was at a sports bar/restaurant in Madison, WI (went there after a Badger basketball game). My family and I had just order our food and my father and I where watching the race on the big screen when it happen. The whole place went silent, and when we heard that he didn't make it, the owner of the restaurant even asked that a moment of silence to be taken for the life and memory of Dale.

Yes I saw the race where the Intimitator died. I was shocked and stunned as I'm sure other fans of Dale Sr. were. The exact moment the crash happened it really didn't look that bad. Then learning that Sr. might have been already gone before the ambulance reached the hospital. Dale senior has done a lot for Nascar to bring it to the fans. Therefore he will surely be missed.

Yes, thats the biggest race of the year any NASCAR fan would not be watching that its like the Indianapolis 500 everyone who loves racing watches at least those 2 events a year, and I remember the crash and then they were trying to get him out of the car and he was either already dead or they took him to the hospital right after that. Not 100% sure because its been 5 years and I think Dale earnhardt Jr. won that race too. I couln't imagine being so happy because you won the biggest race of the year besides Indianapolis and your crew cheif or mom or whoever tell you that your dad might not make it or was already dead. Saw the whole thing. Was my first race to go to, cuz DODGE CAME BACK. All of us that were at the race never new nothing til the parking lot was empty. We found out on the radio. They didn't want anything to go down. Saw it and it didn't look as bad as it was. We then ttried to get to the race track that had a huge card to sign, missed it buy an hour. We were driving and came from Ohio.

Yeah. I was 9 when he died. I'm 14 now. I was watching the race with my dad and it happened. Then after dinner my dad was watching Mike Helton, the NASCAR president, say, "We lost Dale Earnhardt.". I don't think I cried, because I was only 9. But now that I'm 14, when I think about him, I cry my eyes out and wish he was still here today. It was horrible for my dad, 'cause Dale Sr. was and still is my dad's favorite driver. My dad doesn't like any other drivers, except him. I keep telling my dad that he should be a Tony Stewart fan, but he says, "No. Dale Sr. was the best.". And that's my story. Thank you.

Yes, what a tragedy. My Dad is a big time Sr. fan, it was like someone in the family had died but then again we did spend every Sunday or Saturday night with he and his family. Daddy still flies the #3 flag on Sundays in his honor and memory.

Yeah, I was at a motorcycle/atv trade show and one of the vendors was showing the race on a one of those multiple tv deals in the side of a semi trailer.

The whole place was buzzing about the crash and then went silent when his death was announced.

Saw it on TV "live." I have to be honest in that I did not like Dale Sr. and his style of driving. I don't and never did think wrecking people out of the way was good driving, it was dirty driving. He gave a lot of bumper to people, and then freaked out if it happened to him. I can't back up that "code of conduct." HOWEVER... I really would have loved to see the rascal retire to his hunting and fishing after a long career. I NEVER like to see anyone get hurt in any fashion. Think of this when you look back on that day- what Kenny Schrader must see from time to time when he closes his eyes. Remember- he was one of the first ones to walk up to the 3 Car, and he quickly turned and walked away. Must not have looked too good in there.

Yep. Saw the ambulance carrying him away, then read on the internet about an hour later he died. I was a big fan of his. It was sad, but you know, if he had to go, that's the way he would've out I think.

YES, AND I REMEMBER THAT RACE VERY WELL , RIP DALE RACING LOST ONE OF IT'S GREATS THAT DAY. ALTHOUGH I REALLY WAS NOT A DALE FAN, I REALLY DO MISS HIM NOW THAT HE IS GONE. MY FAVORITE MEMORIES OF THOSE DAYS GONE BY, WAS JUST WATCHING HIM LOSE AT THE END OF A RACE. NEVER THOUGHT I'D MISS HIM, BUT I DO, I THINK ABOUT HIM AT SOME POINT IN EVERY RACE.
