as far as the "spirit of the finger"... yes I would agree... but he probably wouldn't actually give it the bird... but if he was to give it to anything, yeah, it would probably be that...

This is a somewhat surprising suggestion coming from someone who posts questions such as: Why is it that people who best emulate Christ's message were all leftists? Have the anti-progressives stolen Jesus? - I'm all for keeping Jesus out of politics, but I can't be convinced that you are when you deliberately tie his name in when given the chance.

No... actually Jesus said to obey authority (politicians) He even paid a tax once to the very ones that would later have him crucified.
