As a young American man, Glen had no money. During the '30s, he rode the rails and went door to door in search of honest work and a hard-earned dollar.
World War II Marine Corps veteran and owner of Bell's Drive-in hot-dog stand, ate and loved and riffed on until, in San Bernardino, Redlands and Riverside, he established three stands featuring Mexican food.

Glen William Bell (born c. 1923) is the founder of Taco Bell.

He served in the US Marine Corps during World War II. Mr. Bell left military life in 1946, and started his first hot dog stand in San Bernardino. In 1952, he sold his first stand and built his second. Shortly thereafter, he switched to Mexican food. His company grew very well but was later sold to Pepsi. He later married and had five children.
