I think it is good as it links the BBC with tradition, it suits the station of the Archers.

Radio 1 ,once did too (when they closed down at midnight) These days we're going to be offensive by doing this (In our own country).I'm proud to be British, but how many people are really offended with us ?? Birmingham Banned santa/Father Christmas in the shopping center's to avoid conflict, and stop any upset. with the Asian community last Christmas. Companys are banning us flying the England flag during the World cup. Three cheers for Radio 4 . I've nothing against anyone or any race - but can't we keep a little bit of British Pride going?

I would rather hear it this morning following the Chinese Grand Prix on ITV when Jensen Button wins for Britain in the Honda or the British Mclaren, Williams, or Red Bull Teams win.
Will they play it twice if coultard wins, or will it be flower of Scotland and God save r gracious Queen I wonder

Yes, they should. PBS in America ends its broadcasting day with the National Anthem, and Canadian TV channels sign off with O Canada. I always found it stirring. To be honest God Save the Queen isn't as rousing a tune as either of those, but Britons should still be less shy about showing more patriotism.

I didn't know they played it and I heard the national anthem in its entirety for the first time in ages on Radio 4, and I felt proud to be a British Muslim! Reminded me of school!
**EDIT**
OOOOH, Wonder why I got a thumbs down! Someone doesn't like British people who are not white. I am proud to be British and Muslim and Pakistani and everything else, prick.

Who the hell wants to save the Queen? I certainly don't. Now if they adopted and played something like Jerusalem I could understand.
