The best teacher is one who knows what he's talking about coz he has actually "been there" . . . .somebody who's sharing his life from his first hand accounts. This also gives you added competence and credibility coz you'll be more compassionate and understanding in handling individuals undergoing similar crises. Nobody would want to be treated as lab rats. Besides, things happen for a reason beyond our comprehension. Many of us commit serious mistakes in our lives one time or another. We cannot bring back the past but we could certainly learn something worthwhile from it. "From the bowels of the earth, GEMS are found!" (that's something from me!). . . Good luck ! ! ! I believe in you! ! !

yeah why not.
sometimes on-the-risk youth need a positive example, to see where the road of violence and gangs can take you, and that education is the key to success. and you are a living example of that.

don't worry about capitilization or misspelled words and whatnot, if you can speak english, that's effective communication enough. Don't expect or look for others to really hold your hand, outside of just being a mentor to you in your career path. Now you have to prove YOURSELF to yourself. If the community wants to support you and such, great. But if you really wanna prove yourself to the community, you will have to prove that you don't need them hovering over your shoulder while you do your work. You may have to establish some trust, that's on you. If you know you can do it, then it doesn't matter. Just go out there and do the damn thang!!

Depends on what you were locked up for. You would probably do will in an institutional setting with problem kids. At least you have some credibility when you try to change their ways. Otherwise try the Boys and Girls Clubs, or other after school type programs. The one near my house offers tutoring, etc. and the kids need someone to talk to. Good luck with your 2nd chance

Poop. You can't spell Bachelor, you don't capitalize "I" and you can't use verbs in the correct tense. You should NOT be allowed to teach because you are not capable of communicating clearly. How can a student learn from someone who they can't understand?

In terms of criminals, I think that non-violent, non-sexual offenders who did not commit any crimes against children should be CONSIDERED for teaching positions, but that parents should be informed and the community involved in the classroom.

permit me to help you out a bit. if your plans are to benefit the entire society as a whole, then you will need to get your papers in order because I do not know what the judge did with all of your papers prior to go to the jail.

please keep in mind that I am only a private citizen living somewhere in the USA and that I wish you only the best of luck.

I would think so, like you said with the provision it was a violent crime or a sex crime or against kids..seems pointless to not use people who have truly turned their life around.

The U.S. young society needs people like you. Public school probably won't hire you, but check rehab centers and alternative places that provide therapy.
