What do you believe causes a person to be a homosexual?

Clarification: Is it genetics, childhood environment or experiences, personal choice, etc?

Obviously, I'm not trying to generalize all homosexuals, as I'm sure there are various reasons for some, but I'm asking about the vast majority.

During or just before our adolescence we go through a transition period which gets really confusing. We find ourselves getting aroused, sometimes at arbitrary moments, but sometimes with external stimulus, tactile or visual or such. We draw some conclusions with that. Sometimes it is helped along by opportunistic homosexuals recruiting the young and confused. They know because they had those moments too. They will point at some moment of arousal that was not strictly heterosexual and say "See? You are one of us." I don't know why, but they tried repeatedly to recruit me. I know of several homosexuals and they all have stories of this recruitment.

The first part of my explanation is from a study of psychology. The second part is from my experience.

There are some born that way. There are some that become it via either horrid relationships with a certain parent or sexual molestation. I know a few females who were abused as kids and they sleep around and experiment sexually.

Honestly, I think this debate is fruitless. They are what they are. Too many try and change them. There are better things to do with one's time.

There is a lot of debate on the subject and I think this question can be asked of serial killers, criminals, etc. I am not equating being gay with this, but the debate on nature/nurture is still the same.

I believe that it's a number of things i believe that some people are born gay you got some little kids that you can look at and say they have sugar in their tank.Some people experiment and like the other side .Sometimes it's things people go through like young people going to jail and coming in straight and coming out gay

Freedom to love each other is a great thing, so what if someone is gay, the cause? There is no cause in my book. What causes someone to be heterosexual, not trying to be funny, but people are people, let them live and be happy. We are not hurting anyone. Peace.

chance, genetics, maybe being too close to only a mom (one theory), maybe sometimes due to bad experiences with women, I OFTEN wish I was gay. I think dealing with predjudice would ea small price to pay to have horny willing sex partners. I like women though, damn.

It is genetical.

And you know what? Animal Planet showed this program in which birds and some other animals turned out to have life-long homosexual partnerships. They even take over nests of heterosexual birds and breed the eggs.
