If you are a 6th grader looking for a book, go talk to a librarian! (preferably at a public library). Librarians can help you find a book you will like that is as short as you want on any topic you are interested in! If your library has a children's librarian, that's the person to talk to.
(your school librarian may get picky about a book list from a teacher or something, so that's why I suggested a public library)

wrinkle in time- Madeline l'Engle

all beverly clearly books

e.g. Ramona (I think that's by her, but it's a series)
they even had a television series of it back in the early 90's that you can show to the class after they've read the book.

Bud, not Buddy

Ulysses (I was in the challenge program, so, we had to read that one in the 6th grade, but it was over a couple of months. and we had art projects associated with the chapters)

Goosebumps (those are just fun) what would really be challenging is, following a Goosebumps model, that they write their own horror/suspense story.

young girls might be interested in the Babysitters' Club, those were pretty good

and then there's the Hardy Boys novels. I think that's what they were, they were a mystery series.

how's that list?

Try my mom's books! My mother is Dianne Henderson, author of The Miller's Pond Mystery Series.

Readers voted the books 5 stars.

These are excellent books!

We are still tring to get the word out about the books. Check them out. They are great books. You would like them too!!

Go to www.renlearn.com and click order quizzes. (Don't worry, you're not ordering anything) Then use the search features to search out books that are on a 6th grade level. Sixth grade level is anything 6.0 or higher.

Good Luck!
