I think they are afraid of commitement and that is one of the reasons they live that lifestyle. My sister is a Les. and she has been in several live in situations, it is like they move in within a month of knowing each other, much more loose than the straight people I know.

Being Bi I've had success full monogamous relationships, short and long term, with people of both genders. Two of them outlasted 50% of all straight marriages/relationships. I know a Bi lady in a committed triple with a man and a woman that is still going strong after 20 years. Your question assumes facts clearly not in evidence.

Huh?
It's not possible for either to stay in a relationship after one of them dies, so gay relationships aren't likely to be 'longer' than straight ones.
But they can be long.
My mom's neighbours from when I was a teenager are a gay male couple who've bee together for about 27 years now.
And this year at Toronto's Pride Parade, two couples of men who've been together 50 years each were featured.....

That's only because you haven't heard of long G, B, TG relationships. I knew a couple, oh, gay couple that were together for 17 yrs. I've never been in a relationship longer than 3 yrs. I'm Bi but live straight.

!. straight people won't allow that to happen, per, relatives who insist relationships other than the 'norm' are 'just wrong' and attempt and often do break up a working relationship.
2. if you went out into the real world and met those in the glbt communities you would find your own answer(s) to your question, and..........you may not like some you hear, while others would bring you to your knees in sorrow.

How would you know I know gays and lesbians who have been together for thirty years. So why do less than half of straight marriages succeed.
