I know that at Abilene Christian University (In Texas) as this is where I currently attend and work... That with a 30 on you SAT, you will get accepted, and automatically receive a 1/2 tuition scholarship... I work for the Student recruiters office at ACU... Any university would be lucky to have you... Don't be scared, just apply to the Universities you have interest in and talk to your college councilor at school... I hope this helps you out... :)

Any State University will accept you with a 2.7. I suggest taking a few more classes in a community college to bring it up to a 2.8. When you have a 2.8, you will (nearly 100% of the time) get accepted to UC Santa Cruz and/or Riverside. Both are top 100 Universities.

A community college is your best bet. There really are VERY few colleges that would accept you with a 2.7 GPA, because it may suggest that you may not be able to handle the higher level courses at their institution. Bulk up your GPA at a community college and then transfer.

A 30 is a great score, and I know of schools that solely based admissions and scholarships on ACT scores. Just google the universities you want to attend and check out requirements!
