Regarding previous answers:

Yes, 2,588 as-the-crow-flies miles from Austin to Juneau. If you're a crow. There are no direct commercial flights on that route.

No, no, no, it is not "3,760 road miles from Juneau, AK to Austin, TX". There is no road from Juneau. You either fly or take the state ferry.

Where in TX, where in AK? From Amarillo to Ketchikan is 1962 air miles, about 1800 from the nearest corners of each state.

From Beaumont to Attu in the Aleutian islands, 4770 air miles.

Driving: Austin-Seattle is 2280 road miles. Seattle-Hyder (the only bit of SE Alaska on the road system) is about 1000 miles. Seattle-Anchorage is 2360 miles. Call it 4 days for a very serious road warrior.
