Why New York? :-)
$5k will be enough to get situated (move there), but its not enough to do much else, so plan on looking for work to tide you over while you look for something better.
Doing something online is one possibility, but you can do that from most anywhere.
If your intentions are to work for yourself, I'd recommend some sort of personal services. House cleaning, petcare, nanny, painting/repair work, something that doesn't require a large investment in equipment or facilities. A few more ideas might include personal or business consulting of some sort - if you're qualified.
Don't get tied into a long lease on an expensive apartment, not to start, look for a roomate living situation instead. You'll probably learn a lot from your roomie, and you're free to move elsewhere when the time comes. If you're single, maybe you'll meet someone.
Spend your time in places where you stand to meet someone worthy, and choose your friends wisely.

If you are looking for a brick and morter business, you will fall faster than a speeding bullet.
If I had an extra $5K, I would use that as my living expenses and get into an internet based sales opportunity.
Currently, an energy drink company that I am a dealer for is looking for qualified people to become dealers as well. Currently, I know of nobody that has the New York City market. I am in Houston, TX.
If you want, you can get the details at http://www.drinkact.com/pktull
If I can be of further assistance, let me know.

my friend jumped off the boat with $15
of course thats back when america was a strong country.
today almost all the money in the economy has been sucked up by the big corporations.
American currency has no value behind it, new dollars can only be created by usury. That is why the interest rate is used to control inflation.

The first thing you should do is not tell anyone you have $5000 in your pocket lol. You can't run a business with just $5000 my friend.

that's generally greater desirable to be secure, despite if curiously like a stupid concept. on each and every occasion i'm in a huge city center, I try to be very careful of my environment, and who's close to me. return and forth Channel has shown video of ways hassle-free that's to get %. pocketed, even once you think of your secure, so why danger it? i might propose that in case you could desire to placed on tight pants get a fanny %., or in simple terms save a small volume of money, identity, and a mastercard interior the wallet. Being secure is the suitable wager.(and greater low value interior the long-term)

You can make it big anywhere WITHOUT $5000... the money is irrelevant. It's YOU that's relevant. If you believe in yourself and work hard, you will be a success... guaranteed!

If you have to ask......you might want to consider an on-line business and hold on to your money right now.
